Launch of ‘Post-War Social and Psychological Recovery Leadership’ Training Course in Khartoum

The specialized training course titled ‘Leading Post-War Social and Psychological Recovery’ was launched in Khartoum, organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transformation Studies in partnership with the Mubarak Qasamallah Institute for Research and Training. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Dhu Al-Ghaffar Ali Mohamed, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Human Resources and Labor in Khartoum State (Acting Minister).

On its second day, the course featured two main modules: ‘Community Leadership in Times of Recovery’ and ‘Psychosocial Support Skills for Community Leadership,’ presented by Dr. Hadia Magzoub amid active engagement and discussions from participants.

The course brings together a diverse group of community actors and humanitarian figures, including representatives from social and educational institutions, IDP and women’s affairs officials, the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in Khartoum State, civil society organizations, armed struggle movements, as well as academics and university professors.

The program commenced its first sessions with working papers presented by Dr. Osama Marzouq on ‘Analyzing the Reality of War in Sudan,’ the ‘Psychosocial Impact of Post-War Conflict,’ and the core concepts and principles of psychological recovery.

The training course is scheduled to conclude tomorrow after addressing two critical topics: ‘Rebuilding Social Capital’ and ‘Social Peace in Sudan,’ aiming to produce actionable recommendations to support sustainable recovery efforts and strengthen community peacebuilding.
