Launch of ‘Influential Media Appearance Skills’ Course at Mubarak Qasamallah Institute

The specialized training course titled ‘Skills for Influential Media Appearance on Satellite Channels’ was launched at the Mubarak Qasamallah Institute for Research and Training. Organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transformation Studies, the opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Ahmed Ishag Shanab, Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism for the Darfur Regional Government; Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Adam, Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Organization (IDO); and Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abedin, Director of the African Center for Governance and Peace.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ishag Shanab, Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism for Darfur Region, greeted the Secretary-General of IDO, the Director of the African Center, and all attendees, stating: ‘Given the title of the course, its trainers, and participants, we wished we were among the trainees ourselves. As our professor said back in the nineties, every era has its miracle, and media is the miracle of this era. Salutes to the African Center for Governance for organizing this timely training course; its valuable outcomes must be translated into practice for maximum benefit.’

Welcoming the Minister, the Director of the African Center, and all distinguished guests, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Adam, Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Organization, emphasized the significance of the course in an era of rapid media evolution. He highlighted that the power of the word has a profound impact, particularly during this critical phase in Sudan’s history, which demands media focus on peacebuilding, peaceful coexistence, and mending the social fabric. He noted that while many participants possess prior experience and talent, this course enhances their skills, extending his gratitude to the African Center for organizing such beneficial programs and thanking the trainees for their active engagement.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abedin, Director of the African Center for Governance and Peace, welcomed the Minister, the Secretary-General of IDO, and all participants, stating: ‘This course comes at a crucial time given the vital need to convey the national narrative and address paramount issues. Led by a distinguished group of experts and media professionals, we hope this program graduates ambassadors for media work and proves transformative in your professional journeys.’
